Eels at Genesis Aquatics and Albany Creek Swimming

3 Feb by Gary Conomos

While Caelan, Violet and Poppie were competing at the Genesis Aquatics Junior Mets Short Course Qualifying Meer at Genesis Aquatics Lily attended the Albany Creek Transition Junior Short Course Meet.

Lily bravely competed without company or my support and recorded times close to her personal best.

Caelan gave it all as we have come to expect but found the going tough after two heavy gymnastics sessions on Friday and Saturday. I am confident that he will be at his best at the Queensland Sprint Championships this weekend.

Poppie faced some strong competition in the 7 year old ranks. Although she did not achieve a podium finish on this occasion she did really well considering the stress of an earlier wardrobe malfunction.

Violet won a silver medal - her first ever in competition. Anita attended the meet as she had taught both Poppie and Violet to swim at WET Swim School. It was a thrill for all of us.

Caelan, Lily and Violet will join the other Eels swimmers who have qualified for the Junior Mets on the last weekend in February. Poppie will be ready in 2027. Congratulations and best wishes to all.
